Located in the valley of the Couze, about ten kilometers southwest of Brive-la-Gaillarde, in the heart of a peaceful and green natural environment, the lake of the Causse Corrézien extends over 84 hectares, at the foot of the villages of Chasteaux and Lissac-sur-Couze.
In the mid-1970s, this site was developed by the Syndicat du Causse Corrézien. The surface area of the lake is nearly 84 hectares of water; the first impoundment was carried out in the summer of 1976. This lake, situated in a green setting, is a place where it is good to come for a walk with family or friends.
Famous for its rowing competitions, this pleasant site is perfect for a relaxing break, a picnic or a sports outing. A nautical base, open all year round, allows you to practice sailing, rowing, canoeing, windsurfing, stand up paddle... In the summer, the lake also invites you to take a dip. Two sandy beaches, where swimming is supervised in July and August, welcome you for a refreshing and relaxing moment!
The offer of outdoor leisure activities is not limited to water activities: walkers will appreciate a 7 kilometer paved path around the lake. Introductory courses in Nordic walking are also offered, as well as supervised mountain bike outings, and climbing sessions on the surrounding cliffs.
